Product Care
Leather
Our leather is made from natural lambskin. The fine lambskin used has been treated and conditioned in order to obtain variations in colour.
Great care should be taken when wearing and handling. When being worn for the first few times, slight transfer of colour may occur and skins are likely to shed particles. Transfer of colour may be inevitable when wearing deeper colours with light coloured garments.
Exposure to rain and humid conditions should be avoided. Rain and water may cause staining and may affect the leather and its texture. If exposed to rain/ water, let dry in a cool ventilated place- away from any heat and direct sunlight.
With time skins may present slight variations in colour which is not a fault or defect but a natural ageing process of the leather.
Care Instructions for Lamb Leather
To keep your lamb leather soft, supple, and looking its best, follow these care tips:
- Professional Cleaning: Always take your lamb leather items to a leather care specialist. Avoid home cleaning to prevent discoloration or damage.
- Spot Clean Carefully: For small marks, use a damp, soft cloth to gently wipe the leather. Avoid soaking the material or using harsh chemicals.
- Condition Regularly: Apply a leather conditioner every few months to keep the leather soft and prevent it from drying out. Use a product specifically designed for lamb leather.
- Avoid Water: If your leather gets wet, gently blot excess water with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry naturally. Keep it away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can cause the leather to crack.
- Store Properly: Store your lamb leather garment in a cool, dry place, preferably on a padded hanger to maintain its shape. Use a breathable garment bag, and avoid plastic, which can trap moisture.
- Avoid Scratches: Lamb leather is delicate. Avoid contact with sharp objects or rough surfaces that could scratch or scuff the material.
With proper care, your lamb leather will age beautifully and maintain its luxurious texture.
Shearling
Care Instructions for Lamb/ Merino Shearling
To preserve the beauty and softness of your lamb shearling, follow these care guidelines:
- Professional Cleaning Only: Always take your shearling coat to a specialist for cleaning. Avoid washing it yourself to prevent damage.
- Spot Clean Gently: For minor stains, use a damp cloth to blot the area. Avoid using harsh chemicals or soaking the shearling.
- Brush the Wool: Use a soft brush to gently fluff the wool side of the shearling, maintaining its plush texture. Brush lightly to prevent pulling on the fibers.
- Air Dry: If your coat gets wet, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight. Never use a dryer or heater, as heat can damage the material.
- Storage: Store your shearling coat in a cool, dry place, using a breathable garment bag to avoid trapping moisture. Avoid plastic bags, which can cause the shearling to become stiff or discolored.
- Avoid Over-Exposure: Keep your shearling away from prolonged exposure to sunlight, which can cause the material to fade over time.
With proper care, your lamb shearling will remain soft, warm, and luxurious for years to come!
